Solution

Find the arc length of the circle:

The arc length of the circle of radius r and angle subtended by arc at centre, θ in degree, is obtained by the formula s=θ×π180×r.

Given, radius r=7cm and angle θ=40° .

Substitute r=7cm and angle θ=40° in s=θ×π180×r to obtain the arc length.

s=40°×3.14180°×7s=4.884cms4.88cm

Hence, the arc length of the circle is 4.88cm.
