The given figure can be thought of as a combination of 3 figures, 2 semi-circles of diameter 28m on the sides and 1 rectangle in the middle with length 60m and breadth 28m.


Area of the given figure = area of two semi-circles + area of rectangle

The area of the two semi-circles can be found out as 2 x area of 1 semi circle.
Area of a semi circle is given by 12×π×r2 .
Given, diameter of semi-circle = 28 m
So, radius of semi-circle
=12(Diameter)=12×28 m=14 m

Therefore, area of the two semi-circles
=2×12×227×(14)2=227×14×14=22×2×14=616 m2

And area of the rectangle
= length x breadth
= 60 x 28
= 1680 m2

So, total area of the figure = Area of two semi-circles + area of the rectangle = 616 + 1680 = 2296 m2
