The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles. Therefore, in the given figure:

BE=DE

BD=BE+DE=2×BE

BD=2×8=16 cm

Now, area of the rhombus = half of the product of the length of its diagonals.

Area=12×AC×BD

=12×12×16=96 cm2
