The correct option is B

12 cm2


Area of the triangle is 12×b×h
Here h = 6 cm from figure
b = 2 cm (from the figure the shaded part is ⅓ rd of the base of the square)
12×b×h=0.5×2×6=6 sq cm
And as mentioned the shaded part has twice the area
Therefore it should be equal to 12 sq cm.
