Open in App
Solution

Atomicity - The total number of atoms present in a molecule is called the atomicity of that compound.

Based on the number of atoms in a molecule, the atomicity is of four types -

  1. Monoatomic
  2. Diatomic
  3. Triatomic
  4. Polyatomic

Ozone - Ozone contains three atoms of oxygen. That is, it is a triatomic molecule of oxygen. Hence, atomicity is 3.

Molecular formula - O3.
