The 5 basic principles of Democracy are :

1.Elected representative : Leaders come from the people through an election process which is fair.

2.The principle of due process of law: It ensures equal treatment of all. All authority must be practiced according to enacted rules and regulations.

3. The principle of involvement : All citizens regardless of gender, status and ethnicity, have equal opportunity to take part in the political life and and also ensure a set of social rights which comprise the right of education, the right of information, the right of minimum income etc.

4.The principle of openness: Members have the right to know what is going on within the organization by attending meetings and inspecting the official records . There is Free formation of opinion and an independent decision-making process among the citizen. This applies to the existence of free and independent media as well.

5.Respect of human rights : The purpose of government is to serve the needs of the people and to protect the rights of all the citizens.
