1. The arrangement of elements in the increasing order of their atomic numbers is the basis for the modern periodic table which is proposed by Moseley.
2. Atomic mass was not used because the graph plotted as atomic volume Vs atomic number is a straight line where as atomic volume Vs atomic mass is an uneven graph.
