Question
What is the behavior of an ideal gas?
Open in App
Solution
The gas which strictly obeys all the gas laws such as Boyle's law, Charles law, Gay lussac's law, etc is called an ideal gas.
The size and volume of these gas molecules are negligible.
There is no force of attraction between the gaseous molecules.
Ideal gas molecules have only kinetic energy and no potential energy.
The ideal gas cannot be liquefied or solidified.
The internal energy of an ideal gas is independent of volume but depends upon the temperature.
No gas in the universe is strictly an ideal gas but some of the gases like
