Solution

Binomial nomenclature is the system of naming plants and animals where each organism name is denoted by two name one called the genus and the other the specific epithet. This system was given by Carolus Linnaeus. Certain conventions followed while writing scientific names according to this system are:
  1. The genus name begins with a capital letter and the species name with a small letter.
  2. The names should always be written in italics.
  3. When handwritten, the names need to be underlined separately.
