Solution

Bakanae Disease:

  1. Bakanae is a fungal disease that spread through seeds.
  2. Plants are infected by the fungus through their roots or crowns.
  3. It then spreads throughout the plant in a systemic manner.
  4. It is caused by a fungus known as Gibberella fujikuroi.
  5. This fungus increases the amount of gibberellic acid which causes hypertrophy.
  6. Infected plants grow disproportionately tall, pale, thin leaves, generate fewer tillers and yield partly full or empty grains.
