Question

What is the cause of blackening on the outside of the bottom of a cooking utensil?

Open in App
Solution

  • During cooking, if the bottom of the cooking utensil is getting blackened on the outside, it means that the fuel is not burning completely.
  • Sometimes, due to a lack of Oxygen, the fuel doesn't burn completely.
  • When the fuel doesn't burn completely then a sooty flame comes which makes the bottom of the cooking utensil black.
  • At the point when fuel doesn't consume fully, it starts to form incomplete burning fumes or black fumes that are stored on the base surface of the cooking utensil.
