Solution

The correct option is A

Collision of electrons

A metal wire has free electrons which move in a random manner in absence of any cell connected. During their movement, they collide with the fixed positive ions and other free electrons due to which their speed decreases and direction changes. This process continues and the electrons don't move in bulk which causes resistance in wires.
