It is the second group of transition metals which is also known as the Titanium family. The elements of Group 4 are Titanium (Ti), Zirconium (Zr), Hafnium (Hf), and Rutherfordium (Rf).

The charge of group 4 elements is shown below:

  1. There are +3 and +4oxidation state with ns2n-1d2.
  2. Titanium has +3 oxidation state but Zirconium and Hafnium have +4 oxidation state.
  3. These elements have +4 charge which is electropositive.
