Cu₂S consist of cuprous Cu(I) ion and sulphide S^-2 ion,hence its chemical name is cuprous sulphide.One of the chief ore of copper is Cu₂S commercially mined under the name copper glance.its ore is also called chalcocite,redruthite and vitreous copper.
