Components:

The major component of biogas is methane and carbon dioxide. A little amount of hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen and hydrogen is also present.

Organism:

Methanogens like Methanobacterium are present in the rumen of cattle. As a consequence, the dung of the cattle is a rich source of these methanogens. The dung is used in the production of biogas.
