Coenocytic condition:

  1. Syncytial mass of protoplasm resulting from continuous free nuclear cell divisions is called coenocytic condition.
  2. Phycomycetes fungi have coenocytic hyphae.
  3. In Phycomycetes, one long cell is not divided into compartments and is filled with protoplasm.
  4. This condition is also called ‘aseptate’.
  5. The coenocytic condition can be observed in Albugo (parasitic), Mucor (black mould), and Rhizopus (bread mould).
