  3. It is the heaviest element of the stable halogen group which has a relative molar mass of 126.90447 and +7,+5,+3,+1,and-1are the most common oxidation state.
  4. It is non-metallic and available as semi-lustrous under standard conditions.
  5. The colour of the Iodine is shiny violet-black but there is a change in colour which depends on the properties of additional elements.
  6. Purple colour is obtained when Iodine mix with Chloroform, Carbon disulfide, and Tetrachloride.
  7. The blue colour is obtained when Iodine is mixed with starch-containing elements.
  8. Brownish-yellow is obtained when it dissolves in water.
  9. The brown colour is obtained when it is mixed with Ethanol.
  10. Red is obtained when it combines with Dichloromethane.
  11. Violet is obtained when it reacts with Hydrocarbons and non-polar solvents.
