  1. Iron oxide (Fe2CO3) is a chemical compound which consists of Iron and Oxygen with a molar mass of 159.687gmol-1.
  2. There are mainly three Iron ores as Wustite (FeO), Hematite (Fe2O3), and Magnetite (Fe3O4) and Hematite is the most commonly used material.
  3. The use of Iron oxide is to polish the surface into a fine finish and as a pigment in the paint and cosmetic industries.
  4. The colours of the Iron ores are yellow, orange, red, brown, and black but Iron oxide is odourless and red-brown in colour which is insoluble in water.
