Yak is mainly domesticated in Tibet and other Himalayan regions for their milk and meat.
The colour of the milk is pink at the time of calf birth.
This is because of the presence of a very little amount of blood in the first milk when the calves are born, which gives the blood a tinted pink color.
This milk is termed beastings and is highly enriched with protein contents.
After the newborn is weaned, the milk returns to white color.
