Solution

Lymph:

  1. Lymph is a biological fluid of the body that has a composition that is equivalent to that of plasma, which is found between cells and tissues.
  2. It has no colour and moves through the lymphatic system of the human body.
  3. Lymph nodes and lymph veins or channels make up this organ.
  4. This liquid flows in the empty area between tissue structures.
  5. The interstitial fluid fills the holes between the cells.
  6. This fluid lubricates and nourishes the cells of all tissues.

Composition of lymph:

  1. Lymph is a protein-containing fluid that enters lymphatic capillaries (from the tissue gaps) and has the same structure as interstitial fluid.
  2. Foreign cells and chemicals are reabsorbed along with the fluid.
  3. Lymph is a fluid that is similar to blood plasma in composition.
  4. As fluids travel through capillary walls at the arterial end, it is derived from blood plasma.
  5. As the interstitial fluid builds up, tiny lymphatic capillaries pick it up and convey it back to the bloodstream.

The function of lymph:

  1. Maintains your body's fluid levels: The lymphatic system collects unwanted fluid that drains from cells and tissue throughout your body and returns it to your bloodstream, where it is then recirculated throughout your body.
  2. They help the immune system build an immunological response by filtering lymph.
  3. Lymph is a component of the system made up of blood plasma that exits capillary beds from blood vessels.
