Question

What is the constant of proportionality for the following distribution?

Open in App
Solution

We can see that this distribution is a direct variation type of distribution. If we join the dots, we get the graph for direct proportionality, i.e., with increase in the value of x, the value of y increases as well.

For direct proportionality,

yx=k

If we take x=6 and y=30
then, 306=5

Similarly for any value of x and the corresponding value of y, the constant of proportionality, k=5. <!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->
