Solution

DNA fragmentation:

  1. The breaking apart or fragmentation of DNA strands is known as DNA fragmentation.
  2. It can be done on purpose by lab people or cells, or it can happen by chance.
  3. The DNA fragmentation that occurs by chance or on its own in a cell is known as spontaneous or unintentional fragmentation.

DNA fragment movement:

  1. The sieving effect moves DNA fragments on an agarose gel according to size during gel electrophoresis.
  2. The smaller bits travel the most distance.
  3. During gel electrophoresis, the sieving effect causes DNA fragments to travel on an agarose gel based on their size.
  4. The shards with the smallest sizes travel the farthest.
