Solution

Explain the standard form of a number-

The standard form of a number :-

To represent big or small numbers, we use simpler forms, which are called scientific notation or the standard form of a number.

Methods to write the standard form of a number are as follows:

  1. Write the first non-zero digit from the given number.
  2. Put the decimal point after the first digit.

3. Count the number of digits in the given number from the original decimal point to the shifted decimal point and write it in the power of 10. Power is positive if the decimal is shifted towards the left and negative if right.

For examples:

300000=3×105467=4.67×10246.98=4.698×1010.0000052=5.2×10-6

Therefore, representing a very large number with one digit before the decimal point, multiplied by a power of 10 is called the standard form of that number.
