What is the difference between secondary spermatocyte and spermatid?
Secondary spermatocyte:
Secondary spermatocytes are the second in a series of developmental changes during sperm production.
Spermatid:
The spermatid is the haploid male gametes that result from the division of secondary spermatocytes.
Differences between secondary spermatocyte and spermatid:
Secondary spermatocyte | Spermatids |
1.After meiosis II the secondary spermatocyte gives rise to spermatid. | 1.Spermatids contain only one chromatin after they get separated into the anaphase II of meiosis II. |
2. Secondary spermatocyte contains duplicated chromosomes with two chromatids | 2. Spermatids transform into spermatozoa or sperm. |
3. Each secondary spermatocyte divides into two equal haploid spermatids by meiosis II. | 3. Spermatids are haploid cells formed after meiosis in the spermatocytes. |
