Runner is fast growing stem that grows on the surface of the soil. They develop into new plant. An aerial runner are specialised aerial stem that are exposed to air e.g, runner of Centella astaticia . While, surface runners arises from the base of the stem and runs along the surface of the soil. E.g, runner of grass.
