What is the difference between allyl and alkyl?

Alkyl	Allyl
The alkyl is formed by the removal of hydrogen atoms from alkanes.	The carbon atoms with a double bond are allylic carbon.
The general formula of alkyl are ${\mathrm{C}}_{\mathrm{n}}{\mathrm{H}}_{2\mathrm{n}+1}$.	This can be represented through the structural formula ${\mathrm{CH}}_2=\mathrm{CH}-{\mathrm{CH}}_2\mathrm{R}$.
