The difference between alkali and a base is as follows,
An Alkali A Base Alkali is a base which dissolved in water. Base are those compounds which have pH higher than 7 and turn the litmus paper from red to blue. All alkali are bases All bases are not alkali. Alkali releases hydroxyl ions in water. A base is capable to neutralize an acid. Example: Sodium hydroxide(NaOH) Example: Copper oxide(CuO)
