Question

what is the difference between applying total energy conservation at any two points and applying work energy theorem at any two points? For example the case of a vertical circle?

Solution

Dear Student, According to work energy theorem total energy is conserved i.e change in total Energy=workdone . work energy theorem is equavalent to energy conservation. Now in case of vertical circle we use change in kinetic energy is = workdone by gravity ,in other hand total energy KE +PE is conserved both are right. Regards
