What is the difference between AXLE and ARMATURE in motor?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student ,
A rectangular coil ABCD is used as a frame which is made up of many insulated copper wire turns. Armature is the rotating part of the motor. In DC motors ,the armature is supplied with current. When this current carrying armature is kept in a magnetic fields it will experience a torque and starts to rotate .
Axle :- Slip Rings in the axle of an electric motor are used to change the direction of flow of current through the coil in the motor, so that the torque on the axle is in the same direction throughout a rotation
