Open in App
Solution

The difference between the Bayes theorem and conditional probability:

Conditional probabilityBayes theorem
The probability of occurrence of any event A when another event B in relation to A has already occurred is known as conditional probability. Bayes theorem is a mathematical formula, which is used to determine the conditional probability of a given event.

The formula for conditional probability:

when event A is occurring while event B has already occurred.

PA|B=PABPB

The formula for the Bayes theorem:

when event A is occurring while event B has already occurred.

PA|B=PB|A·PAPB
