What is the difference between cellular respiration and tissue respiration?
Tissue respiration:
The phenomenon in which living cells captivate oxygen and discharge carbon dioxide is known as tissue respiration.
Cellular respiration:
A metabolic pathway, which dissociates glucose and generates ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is known as cellular respiration.
Tissue respiration | Cellular respiration |
1. It is the exchange of gases between the cells and lungs. | 1. It is the process of dissociating the components of food into energy sources. |
2. It involves the process of breathing. | 2. It involves several metabolic procedures like glycolysis, pyruvate oxidation, Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. |
