What is the difference between Chlamydomonas and Cladophora??

Chlamydomonas is a green algae found all over the world in soil, marine water, fresh water and even in snow. Chlamydomonas are autotrophic means they contain chlorophyll and capable of synthesizing their own food like plants.

Cladophora is a genus of green alga. It is a filamentous green alga which often grows attached to some solid substance. It belong to class Chlorophyceae. The species of this green algae is found in both fresh water and marine habitats.
In an aquatic food chain Cladophora is primary producer that converts sun's energy into food energy.
