Question

What is the difference between circular and rotatory motion?

Open in App
Solution

let's put it this way, if a rigid body performs rotational motion, then each of its constituents must perform circular motion about the axis of rotation, provided the fact that the axis of rotation may lie inside or outside the rigid body body. Therefore we can say that the circular motion is a motion of a particle about a fix point, where particle is bound to move about a fix point, maintaining a constant distance.
