What is the difference between contact and non-contact forces? Explain with examples.

Non-contact forces are forces that can be applied to a body without any direct contact. Examples of such forces are magnetic, electrostatic, and gravitational forces.

Contact forces on the other hand are the exact opposite of non-contact forces as they can only be applied to a body by coming in direct contact with the body. Examples of such force are muscular and frictional forces.
