Question

What is the difference between Converging and diverging tectonic plates and Bhangar and Khadar?

Open in App
Solution

The plates that come towards each other and form divergent boundary are called converging tectonic plates whereas the plates that move away from each other and form divergent boundary are called diverging tectonic plates. A Tectonic plate is a massive, irregularly shaped slab of solid rock. Some plates come towards each other and form convergent boundaries

Bhangar is old alluvial soil. Khadar is new alluvial soil. Bangar is less fertile and therefore, not suitable for agriculture. Khadar soil is very fertile and therefore, very suitable for agriculture.
