What is the difference between divergent evolution, convergent evolution and adaptive convergence

Open in App
Solution

when the organisms have same common ancestor which later on radiated to diffferent lands to evolve accordingly to the local conditions and habitations it is a divergent evoultion.it is also indicated by darwin as a branching decent. on opposite end when the different unrelated organisms having different origins occupy the similar habitat to develop similar kind of appereance , behaviour, body patterns then we say as convergent evoultion or adaptive convergence/parallel evolution.....
