Difference Between External Indicators and Internal Indicators
The difference between an External indicator and an Internal indicator is as follows,
External Indicator | Internal Indicator |
When a chemical species is externally added to act as an indicator is called an external indicator. | When one of the reactants is capable to behave as an indicator, is known as an internal indicator. |
External indicator generally used in the acid-base titrations. | Internal indicators generally used in the redox reaction. |
Example: Methyl orange. | Example: Potassium permanganate . |
