What is the difference between External respiration and Internal respiration?

External Respiration	Internal Respiration
Takes place outside the cell	Takes place inside the cell
Involves exchange of gases in and out of the body	Involves breaking down of nutrients with oxygen to produce energy.
Involves active and passive processes.	Only active process is involved.
