What is the difference between FeO + O2 → Fe2O3 and Fe + O2 → Fe2O3?

Dear student.
There is not much difference between the two reactions .
Both are oxidation reactions .In first Fe changes from +2 to +3 , in second Fe change from 0 to +3
The difference is of the amount of oxygen used up.
