Question

What is the difference between freezing and freeze drying?

Open in App
Solution

Freezing--> Freezing prevents spoilage(decay) by stopping the growth of microorganisms, which cannot function at very cold temperatures. So the food will remain fresh.

eg: curry, boiled rice etc

Freeze-drying-->This technique involves freezing food in a vacuum and then removing water content (a process in which ice turns directly into water vapor).

eg: meat and friuts
