what is the difference between inert electrodes and active electrodes

Dear Student
Differences are
1) Inert electrodes takes electron and active electrode release electrode.
2)Inert electrode do not participate in the electrochemical reaction but active electrode take part in the electrochemical reaction.
3)e.g. hydrogen electrode is inert electrode where as calomel electrode is active electrode.
