Solution

Criteria Lenticels Stomata
Shape Lenticel is a lens-shaped opening. Stomata is a bean-shaped opening in dicots and dumb-bell shaped opening in monocots.
Types of cells involved Lenticels are formed by the rupturing of epidermis by the underlying parenchymatous cells. When water enters the guard cells, they swell up and cause the opening of the stomatal pore.
Function Lenticels allow the exchange of gases between the tissue present internal to the stem and the outer atmosphere. Stomata also helps in exchange of gases, apart from that, it is also involved in transpiration.
Location Lenticels are present in woody stem. Stomata is present on the surface of leaf or green stem.
