Permeable membrane- Membrane which permits the passage of molecules and ions through it by passive diffusion.
Selective/semi-permeable membrane- Membrane which permits the passage of certain molecules, ions through it by diffusion and restricts the others.
Impermeable membrane- Membrane which do not allow the passage of molecules and ions through it.
