Difference between real numbers and rational numbers:

• Real numbers are the combination of rational numbers and irrational numbers while the rational numbers are the numbers which can be expressed in the form of $\frac{p}{q}$, where $p$ and $q$ are integers and $q\ne 0$.
• All rational numbers are real, but all real numbers are not rational.
• Real numbers contain irrational numbers also. Irrational numbers are non-terminating and non-repeating while rational numbers are terminating or non-terminating but repeating.

For example:

$\sqrt{2}$ is real irrational number and $\frac{2}{3}$is real rational number.
