What is the difference between speed and velocity?
(i) Speed is defined as the distance travelled per unit time, while velocity is defined as the displacement per unit time.
(ii) Speed is a scalar quantity, while velocity is a vector quantity.
Velocity changes if direction changes but speed doesn't change if direction changes.
If a body doesn't change its direction then velocity - time and speed - time graphs will be similar.
