Sub Tropical High Pressure is a significant belt of atmospheric high pressure which is located in and around the latitudes 30 degree N in the Northern Hemisphere and 30 degree S in the Southern Hemisphere. The air is warm and dry. Most of the deserts lie in this belt. It faces tropical and extra tropical disturbances.
The Equatorial Low Pressure Belt lies between 10 Degree N and 10 Degree S latitudes. It is the zone for convergence of trade winds from both the hemispheres. It has extreme calm air movements. It is characterised by low pressure with calm conditions. As the low pressure belt passes along the oceans, the air carries moisture. Rainfall and thunderstorms occur.
