Question

What is the difference between the excreta and the way of excretion between tadpole, larvae of frog, and frog?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Tadpole eliminates the nitrogenous waste as ammonia while frog eliminates the nitrogenous waste as urea. Larvae of frog also excretes nitrogenous waste as ammonia because they live in water. Ammonia is toxic therefore it requires large amount of water to detoxify it therefore most of the aquatic animals excrete ammonia while land animals excrete urea which is less toxic.
