What is the difference between the slip rings of a DC generator and those of an AC generator?

Slip rings and Split rings:
They are made up of copper metal and but their structures are different. Slip rings are utilized in the AC machine, while the split rings are used in the DC machine. DC generators don't have slip rings as they have commutators.

Difference between slip rings of AC generator and split rings of DC generator:

1.	Used in AC generator.	Used in DC generator.
2.	Slip rings are continuous or closed.	Split rings are separated into two or more parts.
3.	Slip rings supply a continuous signal or current. The slip rings are used for power transfer between fixed and rotary structures.	Split rings reverse current direction or polarity.
4.	Slip rings provide a power supply to the AC motor from an alternating current generator.	Split rings are used to supply pulsating voltage to the direct current motor.
5.	The slip rings are of a circular shape.	Split rings have air gaps between two parts.
