Solution

Definition

  1. If an object moves in such a straight path as well as achieves the same distance in the same amount of time is called uniform linear motion.
  2. The motion of a particle traveling throughout a circle at a consistent speed is called uniform circular motion.

The difference between uniform linear motion and uniform circular motion explained

Uniform linear motionUniform circular motion
1.It is defined as a uniform motion along the linear path.1.It is defined as a uniform motion along a circular path.
2.It has a fixed direction of motion.2.The direction of the motion is not fixed.
Example: A bicycle traveling at 5 km/hr on a straight path.Example: The earth's orbit around the sun.

Therefore, throughout the uniform linear motion, the direction, as well as the magnitude of velocity, stay constant, whereas, in a uniform circular motion, the magnitude remain constant, and the direction of velocity, fluctuates continually.
