What is the difference between ‘weight’ and ‘mass’?
Mass | Weight |
1.It is a measurement of how much matter is there in a body. | 1.It is the measurement of the amount of force exerted on mass due to gravity's attraction. |
2.Inertia is measured by mass. | 2.The metric for force is weight. |
3.A scalar quantity is mass. It is enormous. | 3.It's a quantity with a vector. It has the right magnitude and points to the Earth's center or another point of gravity. |
4.Gravitational effect of mass can never be zero. | 4.Gravitational effect can be zero when no gravity is acting on it. |
5.The kilograms is the SI unit of mass (kg). | 5.Newton is the SI unit of weight. |
